A teacher new to Magnolia West has been selected as teacher of the month by her peers. Mrs. Alana Wood has “known since Junior High she wanted to teach.” She has “taught kindergarten through twelfth grade, and spent a year in Hungary teaching a missionary school.”

Mrs. Wood likes to read historical fiction, and even “has a little schnauzer.”

Coming from “Temple High School in Temple, Texas,” here at West, Mrs. Wood is an English II and Pre – AP English II teacher. Being recognized as teacher of the month was, “pretty exciting considering there are great teachers on this campus and to be the one recognized for what we all do is an honor.”
