Facebook messenger is the free app for Facebook that allows users to text, call, and voice message through Facebook without the need to pay for a plan, and it is currently the top free app in the App Store, but only rates 1.5 stars.

Facebook messenger has been around for a few years.  This application has been available as an option for this social media.

Users could always send messages without it, but messenger was just an option. Upon opening the message tab in the main Facebook app, it would ask you if you wanted to download messenger, you could tap “no” and move on.

Now, to message a friend or family member through Facebook, the app is necessary, which would be okay if Facebook did not  ask for all of your private information like: friends, location, microphone, camera, contacts, messages, and more. It is also reported to have very many technical problems, even if their intrusiveness does not  bother you, and most people find it an unnecessary waste of around 100 mb of memory.
