Kayla’s Dance

Dance requires a lot of coordination and practice and a lot of patience to be able to be good.

Freshman Kayla Wingrove loves dancing and hopes to continue it in the future because she is a freshman in high school and is new to dance.

“I was about 13 years old when I started to really like dance. I lived in Houston and went to dance practice after school sometimes and practiced for our rehearsals a lot.”

Kayla has always liked dancing, but when she was about 10, that’s when she started getting into the thought of it becoming more than just a hobby. Sometimes she would practice at home or even after school when she didn’t have practice.

“I watched a lot of dancing shows with my mom and I think that’s what really got me into more dancing,” Kayla said.

When she watched TV shows such as ‘America’s Got Talent, and Dance Moms, With her mom, she felt the need to get better.

“I never really had the thought of being famous for dancing, I just want to dance for fun, but I’m still getting better at it.”

Unlike some people, Kayla prefers to dance for fun and doesn’t plan on making an impression on everyone.

“I just don’t think I need to make an impression on anyone,” Kayla said. “I just want to do what makes me happy, without anyone telling me what to do, or how I did.”

She likes to describe herself as “care-less” about what people think when dancing or doing what you love.

“One thing I get from a lot of people is either how funny I am or how I’m always a positive person towards other people,” Kayla said “I love all of the people that I dance with and I’m so grateful to have them in my life.”
