Two Casts for One Play
October 25, 2018
The Theatre Company presents Bridge to Terabithia to the public on Nov. 1, 3, and 5 at 7pm for $5 presale or $10 at the door.
“I am excited to play the role of Leslie because she is such a fun character, she is very imaginative,” junior Hanna Mitchell said, “and she is super curious, which I really love is always thinking and never stopping.”
Actors in the show are heavily preparing for the hour and a half show and are excited for such a fun show to perform.
“I like playing Boy One because,” sophomore Sammy Arungwa said, “I get to improv a lot of the scenes that I am in.”
The cast is preparing for a busy week ahead with mandatory rehearsals to perfect the play.
“There is a lot of pressure to be a lead because there is a lot of memorizing,” Mitchell said, “but I’m striving to do my very best. I’m very grateful, though!”
Bridge to Terabithia tells the story of 10-year-old neighbors, Jesse Aarons and Leslie Burke who create a fantasy world called Terabithia, which is inhabited by magical creatures, and spend their time together in an abandoned tree house.
“The best part of the show for the audience is the real world connection that they will get, connecting to the kids, and the struggles that the parents go through,” junior Aidan Holt said, “It’s a very special feeling.”
