Foreign language classes are mandatory to graduate high school in the state of Texas; to expand the student’s horizons and give students a different view on cultures in general.

When a person sees the language of a country, they also see the people’s view on the world as well, with a little help from teachers.

“You get to meet new people; you get to learn about different cultures,” senior Dakota Blair said.

Three of four interviewees agreed that foreign language classes are worth the student’s time, the other said that they should not be required although they are useful.

Jobs tend to be easier to find when the person looking for the job is bilingual. To communicate with customers of a different languages.

“For different jobs people need to know different languages,” sophomore Paige Fry said.

All in all, learning a foreign language is one of the most useful aspects of high school.
