A shove in the hallway by someone who is stronger or larger.

A nasty word or two which cuts through you deep, into your very soul.

Someone writes a horrible story online, which is not true, that everyone associated with this media can see, anytime, all the time.

Finally, someone close to you, a brother, a sister, a cousin, suddenly calls you names or teases you about something very private.  Then you blush and the teasing becomes worse, and never goes away.  Ever.

Bullying takes four major roles in life: physical, verbal, cyber, and relational.

Have you ever been bullied in your life or just for a quick minute?

Have you ever felt bad for someone who was getting bullied and you didn`t stop it? There are different types of bullies and everyone’s version is different .

“A bully is someone that will stop at nothing to make innocent people sad, shut down their self esteem, and convince them that they are better than you,” freshman Erik Taylor said.

Physical bullying is a major problem in schools and has been for a long time. Students would be shamed into taking this abuse.

Recently, the bullying may happen every once in awhile but any type of abuse takes years to work through.

“When I was in 5th grade middle school I used to get choked for no reason, The kid who choked me, I never spoke to him or even knew him, But whatever I did he didn’t agree with or didn’t like it,” sophomore Noah Bagley said.

Noah’s emotions suddenly changed when speaking about bullying.

Bullying is a major part of our lives and this should not happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Over 3.2 million students become victims of bullying each year.

Bullying can be stopped and with time can decrease in number by helping.

We can stop this abuse by speaking up and standing up for ourselves.

If America can stand up to cancer, We can stand up against bullying.

Studies indicate that one in four teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and only intervene 4% of the time.  This is wrong and needs to stop, now.

Speak to teacher you trust, speak to your peers, friends, parents and anyone and everyone who will listen.  If they do not hear you, then keep speaking up until you find someone who will listen.
