All Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter. Blue Lives Matter. All Lives Matter.
These are just some of the phrases we hear everyday due to social issues in America.
All-meaning everyone, Matters. Not just white people, not just African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Indians – Native or otherwise, and definitely not just police officers, teachers, Firefighters, White Collar or Blue Collar.
All Lives Matter.
The shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, by a white male police officer fueled the fire of a long debate as to if racial profiling exists.
It is believed Brown surrendered hence the phrase ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ posted on posters, banners, on the internet, and everywhere on social media.
Peaceful protests and civil disorder broke out the day following Brown’s shooting and lasted for several days, months, and even now, a year later all around the country the debate rages on about who really does matter as a human.
Blue, Copper, Pig, The 5-0, Boys in Blue, in other words police, Lives Matter. Without the self sacrificing order of citizens who willingly give up their time with family and many other things within matter for our society would not function as it does today. Right or wrong.
There were over one hundred twenty six police officers that died in the line of duty, but fifteen were killed by firearms. Today there are 20,538 names engraved on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial.
Over hundreds of years, all different types of people have caused racial tension all around the world in one form or another. Instead of arguing, we need to learn to accept each other’s differences to prove we all matter.
