Emily Otto, sophomore, likes to sing, play guitar and piano. Although Emily loves music, she would rather use it as a hobby.

“Music helps me think and relieves my stress,” Emily said.  She wants to be Biomedical Engineer at Duke University, so there will be a lot of stress put upon her.

She took a tour at the Pratt Engineering School at Duke University, and the tour guide’s major was biomedical engineer, which she found to be ironic.

Emily explains that’s what she wants to do because, “it works with prosthetic and useful ways to help with disabilities and creating things to help people…”

Getting into Duke will be a huge obstacle for her, but she plans on pushing herself to keep her grades up, as well as commit to programs and activities that will look good on her application.

If everything doesn’t go to plan, Emily will still strive to get her dream job.
