The softball team is raging through the season with a huge win against their first opponent, Cy-Ranch in their scrimmage held on campus earlier in February.

Mustang players are off to a great start and are pumped up with the right attitude to win district.  State bound play is the murmur going around the school where it is this team’s turn to go for a run at the big trophy.

“The key players to look for this season would probably be seniors Lisa Zaras, Kayci Moore, and Tori Hedrick, they are very explosive at bat and are very good playmakers,” senior  Taylor McDonald said.

Although the girls have a season ahead of them, the teams they will meet have the final say in what kind of season they will carry into the playoffs.

“Even though the playoffs are about couple months or so from now, our schedule looks good this year so I think we have pretty good chance at Playoffs and going pretty far,” McDonald said.

Being successful at the plate is only one way the softball team will be able to advance to meet their goal of a run for state.

The fan base at school is known for being crazy when watching their peers play their hearts out, no matter what the sport.  The support the students show their athletes is a large part of the success of high school sports.

“The only way we are going to get far will be with hard work and with the help of our stands, we need more people to come out and join us, cheer us on.”

The season is underway, rockin’ and rollin.’ The girls are practicing hard and putting in work everyday to make this season the best season as possible.
