A blast from their past

High school has changed tremendously from 1988 to 2014, and it should come as no surprise that our administrators and teachers have experienced similar trials as our own; the late night studying, non-stop due dates, and the rule-upon-rule structure.
All the way from Mansfield High School came our very own Advanced Academics expert Mrs. Ray, who yes, attended high school in her teenage years.
As a high school student, Mrs. Ray attended Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas and graduated in 1988.
Describing herself as an introvert, Mrs. Ray participated in a number of extracurricular activities. Some of the many such activities she was involved with was: playing the “drums in band, yearbook editor, pianist for the jazz band, along with her involvement with the student council and P.A.L.S.”
What a busy bee! It is obvious that Mrs. Ray was not always Magnolia West’s hardworking and dedicated Director of Instruction, she had the responsibilities of a teenager and just like other students, she had teachers to answer to as well.
One of Mrs. Ray’s most influential teachers was her own English teacher, who helped set her on the course to being an English teacher before her transition to Director of Instruction/Advanced Academics.
Although we’ve barely scratched the surface, Mrs. Ray was an overall exceptional student who achieved “A’s and B’s” and “got along with everybody,” who viewed high school as a “stepping stone” to her thriving career; as well as being well-rounded and mature enough to realize “that {high school} was not all life consisted of.”
There is definitely more than ‘what meets the eye’ when speaking about MWHS Administrators.
